~Hey Soul Sister~
Do you feel overwhelmed by life? Or maybe overwhelmed is too strong of a word? Do you feel that there is so much to do, so many people that need to be loved and listened to and feel like you can’t be in as many places as you are needed to be?
Gosh, soul sister, do I feel you. I can feel that way too sometimes.
There’s something to say about taking one step at a time, having momentum, and staying focused, right? Many of us aim to be in that space. Sometimes its more than that thought, I do believe we have to understand our limits. Recognizing that we can only do so much. If God has placed on our hearts to help this person, and that person, and join this and be here, and be there… well, it doesn’t sound very exciting because it says within that statement that there are “limits”, or does it?
I am one that will tell not only my own children and close friends, but my clients as well that you can have the best of all worlds and I truly believe that. Sounds like I am talking about two different paradigms here, doesn’t it? To know what our limits are and that you can have the best of all worlds.
♥Well, let’s take a deep breath in.♥
Take a step back, and really look at the situation(s). Maybe God has called you to do certain things, maybe you have had certain opportunities that you know it’s not one that you will let slip by. I think that by recognizing and understanding your limits YET being able to open up for a “soul-u-tion” from God can make it possible to have the best of all worlds! I can’t tell you how many times I have received some of the best help, ideas, and people who have come in right when I have needed it most. I have first had to surrender it all and ask God from my heart for that soul-u-tion.
Recognizing and accepting that we have limits is a courageous and brave thing to do because it gives us permission to be us. It gives us permission to be in our human flesh, and outside of the perfectionist paradigms that we as women can slip into. It allows us to be who we were called to be and allows others to be who they’re called to be.
It also is important to understand that everyone’s limitations are different, as what works for one person may not work for the next. What is an important thing for one person may not be as important to the next person and especially given everyone’s core beliefs vary. When we can recognize, accept and embrace each person’s differences (this could mean even with your husband or boyfriend) then it also gives you the freedom to be you and not get lost in comparing yourself to someone else.
I do believe that you will be most happy, most healthy, most wealthy when you live out who God has called you to be, which is ultimately YOUR highest purpose.
Do you know your core values? Raj Anderson has done a lot of coaching and mentoring in sessions over this. Core values definitely vary from person to person, yet you don’t have to feel guilty or feel bad because yours are different from others.
We don’t have to be perfect. I want to release those shackles from you. I consider myself a recovering perfectionist, and I see where it has had me all tied up in knots for many years, yet I want to let you in on a little secret. Some grace. Yes good ol’ grace. It came through in our Tea Tuesday session and moved into the Dream Big Noon-Spiration Session and continuing to flow through this message. God and the angels have placed on my heart to share with you to give yourself GRACE.
Definition of grace by Merriam-Webster
- 1a: unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctificationb : a virtue coming from Godc : a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine assistance
I want to ask you, especially if you are a perfectionist or recovering, if you were to give yourself grace today, what would that look like? What about if you were looking for perfection and you redefined how you saw this is perfect enough. Have you ever heard the term nothing has meaning except the meaning I give it? Well soul sister, I want to encourage you to alchemize the “I need it to be perfect” to “this is perfect just as it is”
We may not be able to do everything that is on our list, yet we can see the “perfect-ness” in what is. Sometimes the healthiest thing to say to yourself is “this is good enough for right now, perfection not needed at this time, move on forward sister”. And then give the rest to God. Ask for a “soul-u-tion” from your heart and move on.
What God has whispered to my spirit was in fact a game changer for me, and I hope it is helpful for you where you are at too.
Do you feel a little more at ease bringing in that Grace that God has offered for your life? I bet no one is expecting or asking you to be perfect. I bet it’s your own self-pressure, and this is freeing because you CAN take those shackles off sister. What is it that you are really afraid of anyway? That if you aren’t perfect you will be judged? If you aren’t perfect that your relationships, your home, your marriage, your kids, or your life will be a failure? These could be the core things that are keeping you suffering in your life or keeping you from the expanded joy and happiness. It’s time to take off the shackles and give yourself some grace, and keep moving forward soul sister.
You got this.
You can do it.
Grace. Yes, breathe that in.
Lots of love,
